So many of us have fallen into things because we think it´s the right thing to do or the safe option. When I left school I wanted to be a journalist or a vet. But when my parents split up things went a bit haywire and my school results weren´t good enough.

It took another 5 years before I eventually made it to university and I ended up taking business subjects like law, marketing and finance as I thought they would lead to more secure career options.

After starting on a banking graduate scheme I wasn´t sure I had made the right choice. Luckily I ended up in project and change management and found something that averted what could have become a rather safe and boring career!

I´ve been doing that for a long time now and have made the transition from employee to contractor, then interim and finally to self-employed consultant. I discovered coaching around 15 years ago, before it became a "thing" and completed an ICF training programme. Since then I´ve worked with senior managers and teams impacted by major organisational change such as company restructures, downsizing and offshoring programmes.

I´ve been in your shoes many times and I know how stressful job hunting is, especially after redundancy. I know how confusing it can be trying to find the right path and my path has definitely not been a straight line to get to this point!

The good news is that I´ve learned a lot from the twists and turns over my 30-year career and can share my insight with you to help you avoid the mistakes that I made and get clarity much faster than I did.
